Router Tips

First and foremost, WTC Communications does not provide technical support for routers. However, here are the details you should know to make a successful connection. Since there are many different varieties of routers, I am not going to include screenshots or get overly specific.

In the router's setup section:

  • Your username should be the entire email address.
  • Your password will be the one supplied by us. Passwords are case-sensitive.
  • Connection type should be set to PPPoE
  • Host name is your user name BEFORE the "@". Leave the @kingston.net off.
  • Domain name is kingston.net
  • Router should be set to obtain IP address automatically even if you have a static IP.
  • Our DNS settings, if you need them, are 205.189.48.3 and 205.189.48.6 - if your router has room for a third, leave it blank.
  • Keep-alive is optional.
