Posted by Clarke M on 28 March 2006 05:27 PM
Every now and then it is a good idea to empty your temporary Internet files from your computer.

Having a full cache directory slows down surfing and uses a *LOT* of space on your computer.

In order to empty your Temporary Internet files:

Click on the Tools option in Internet Explorer, then on Internet Options

You will see the Internet options page come up. Click on the Delete Files Button

A new window will pop up asking you to confirm the deletion. Click OK

You will taken back to the Internet Options window. Now we can reduce the amount of space taken by the Temporary Internet files by clicking on the Settings button

When the new window opens up, change the number under the Temporary Internet Files Folder option to something more realistic (IE: 25 or 50MB)

Click OK to all the open windows, close Internet Explorer and re-open it.

Thats it, your browsing should be a bit quicker and your computer a bit happier!
