Outlook Express Blocking Attachments
Posted by Clarke M on 28 March 2006 04:59 PM
The newest version of Outlook Express (version 6) has some added security features. In most cases, it will not let you open any attachments that have the possibility of containing a virus. Outlook Express does not have a built-in ability to scan for viruses, so it will block clean attachments as well. Here is how to disable this feature:

    - Open Outlook Express
    - Click Tools
    - Click Options
    - Click the Security tab
    - Remove the check in the box indicated in the following image:

    - Click OK

You will now be able to open attachments. It is a good idea to go back in and re-check this box, as it adds some security to Outlook Express.
