Getting too much spam?

Here's how to cut down on the amount of annoying unsolicited email you receive. Many spammers harvest addresses from the internet, and some of the places they can find your address are:

- newsgroups
- guest books
- forums

...and anywhere your email address is in plain view.

When you receive spam, a lot of it will have a link at the bottom to click if you would like to be removed from the mailing list. Some advertisers honour this, but many of them use this as just a verification that your email address is valid. Do NOT reply to spam, you will just get more of it.

You may also want to adjust your filter settings in your Postini junk mail and virus filter. Log in to Postini from our home page at http://www.wtccommunications.ca/mywtc/postini.php your full email address and password, and click on the "Junk Mail Settings" link. Here, you may adjust individual junk mail filters. Be sure to check Postini every few days to ensure it has not trapped anything legitimate.

Any spam that does get through can be forwarded as an attachment to spam@kingston.net to help Postini fine-tune the filters. Please do not forward spam directly to Support.
